Well, I clung to God during the next day and hunted for His input throughout conversation. I got this...While communicating with ramp control in Boston, the controller referred to our aircraft as a CRJ. This stands for Canadair Regional Jet. Our aircraft is not a CRJ it is an ERJ (Embraer Regional Jet).
The captain said to me, "They're always calling us that incorrectly."
My response, "If she knew what the C in CRJ stood for she probably would know not you use it incorrectly."
No response from the captain.
From past conversations about very personal topics such as faith, I've learned that long silences are very key moments.
Cognition is often left uninhibited when we close our mouths (This is the reason we pilot's obey "Sterile Cockpit").
I had used silence previously throughout the day as the Captains mouth said, "My, God" many times. At these moments I refuse to acknowledge what was said.
The CRJ comment doesn't seem like a special moment unless you put it in context of the day and the flight deck atmoshpere for that trip.
This is the reason why I share it here. (By the way, I flew with another self-professed atheist today...third one this week!)
